RIIIT to start five IT finishing schools

Raman International Institute of Information Technology (RIIIT), a Mysore-based IT finishing school, plans to set up five similar institutes in the country.

CHENNAI: Raman International Institute of Information Technology (RIIIT), a Mysore-based IT finishing school, plans to set up five similar institutes in the country, a top official of the company said on Friday.

Addressing a press conference here, S V Venkatesh, Founder and CEO of RIIIT said he planned to set up five such schools at Chandigarh, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and in the state of Kerala.

He also said admissions for the second batch of the one- year Post Graduate Diploma in Software Programming was now open.

"The course will commence in February, 2008. We propose to admit 1,000 students in the batch," he said.

The course will train students in technical, communication, problem-solving, verbal and soft-skills, apart from giving them valuable industry exposure, he said.
