OP Jindal Global University broke into the top 35 worldwide for Law and making sharp jumps across multiple subjects in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026. As per the latest ranking, the University has secured top positions in India across disciplines like Politics, Business, and Social Sciences. In Law & Legal Studies, JGU has climbed from 78 to 35 ranking. This is the highest rank ever achieved by an Indian law school in QS rankings.

The university has now held the #1 position in India for seven consecutive years in this subject. It is also the youngest Indian university to break into the global top 35 in any discipline and remains the only South Asian institution in this elite group for Law.

In Politics & International Studies, the university has entered the global top 100 at #90, jumping 145 places from its earlier band of 201–250. It is now ranked #1 in India across both public and private institutions in this field.


In Business & Management Studies, JGU has moved into the #151–200 global bracket, rising from 451–500, a jump of over 300 positions in a single year.

The university has also strengthened its presence in other disciplines:
  • Arts & Humanities: Ranked #323 globally, and #1 among private universities in India
  • Social Sciences & Management: Ranked #232 globally, also leading among private universities in India
  • Economics & Econometrics: Emerges as #1 private university in India
The QS rankings evaluated 6,277 institutions across 55 disciplines worldwide.
