Punjab govt invites bidders for 3 flight training institutes

Punjab government on Thursday invited preliminary bids from local as well as overseas players to develop three flight training institutions at Patiala, Ludhiana and Jalandhar in partnership with a state agency.

CHANDIGARH: Punjab government on Thursday invited preliminary bids from local as well as overseas players to develop three flight training institutions at Patiala, Ludhiana and Jalandhar in partnership with a state agency.

An official spokesman said the State Civil Aviation Department had worked out a plan to impart initial training to the youth desirous of becoming pilots.

To execute these projects, Feedback Ventures Pvt Ltd is assisting Punjab Infrastructure Development Board (PIDB) and the Civil Aviation Department, he said.

The selected bidders would develop and maintain the flying clubs. They would have to operate at least seven single engine and one twin engine aircraft as per the standards and guidelines of Director General Civil Aviation (DGCA) and Department of Civil Aviation, Punjab.

The companies would have to install modern simulators, hangers, navigational and communication system, flight management computers and other ancillary infrastructure.

Besides deploying adequate trained staff for training services, the bidders could develop and conduct recreational activities like skydiving, aero-modeling, ballooning and joy rides at these institutes.
