Punjab Government to appoint 11,000 new teachers

Punjab Education Minister Upinderjit Kaur said the state govt would appoint 11000 new teachers for Senior Secondary and High schools.

AMRITSAR: Punjab Education Minister Upinderjit Kaur today said that the State Government would shortly appoint 11,000 new teachers for the Senior Secondary and High schools.

In the last one and half year the state government had appointed 14,000 teachers in senior secondary and High schools besides the promotion of four thousands teachers which improved the state of affairs of Government Elementary schools. She said that The State Government would improve the existing infrastructure of Education.

"In every block, a new Adarsh School will be opened", she added.

She said a sum of Rs. 141 crore was earmarked for better infrastructure for 350 Government schools of the State.

She said that a sum of Rs 12 crore was kept for Eduset that would help to make Punjabi language compulsory throughout all schools in Punjab.
