Placement over before season ends

AHMEDABAD: A case of too many suitors for the eligible! This year, the IIMs saw nearly all their graduates swamped with offers well before the official end of the placement season. At IIM-A, most students in the batch of 250 have already been placed and the placement season is yet to formally conclude. Thanks to the demand-supply gap of managers in the country, the placement processes at most of the IIMs are getting shorter.

For example, IIM-Ahmedabad, which started its placement process on March 8, has virtually concluded the process by the end of fourth day itself. “With the number of experienced candidates on campus going up, the number of pre placement offers are mounting. This is reflected in the final placement season as well,” says an institute official.

According to sources, the highest offer at the institute has touched a record $2,60,000, offered by a consulting firm for an international posting.
