PES invites EoI for managing educational satellite network

Punjab Edusat Society has invited Expression of Interest from project management agencies to manage the educational satellite network which has been set up in the state to improve the level of education.

NEW DELHI: Punjab Edusat Society has invited Expression of Interest from project management agencies to manage the educational satellite network which has been set up in the state to improve the level of education in 300 government schools.

The management agency will be required to "manage and deliver technical services to enable the Society to effectively manage and run the state hub," PES said while inviting EoIs.

The interested agencies can submit their bids to the PES by February 20, it said.

The Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal last month launched Rs 12-crore Educational Satellite Network (EDUSAT) to facilitate interaction of students of 300 schools with teachers through Satellite Interactive Terminals (SITs).

The EDUSAT facility would provide two-way audio-video interaction and connect government institutions online across Punjab.

The selected agency would be responsible for managing technical equipments, providing skilled manpower, managing EDUSAT network, the society said.

The prospective bidders should have a turnover of more than Rs 5 crore for the past three financial year and must have experience in IT or education project management.
