NIIT university launches Microsoft's innovation centre

NIIT university (NU) today announced the launch of a Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC) on its campus at Neemrana in Rajasthan.

NEW DELHI: NIIT university (NU) today announced the launch of a Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC) on its campus at Neemrana in Rajasthan.

A collaboration agreement was signed today to formalise the partnership between Microsoft and NIIT University in the presence of NIIT University Co-Founder Vijay Thadani and President Rajendra Pandey and Microsoft Corporation (India) Chairman Bhaskar Pramanik, it said in a release.

Under this Agreement, Microsoft will collaborate with NU to facilitate setting up the MIC with an aim to foster the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship amongst university students, by helping them apply their knowledge and technological know-how to real life problems, it added.

Such an effort will also open up employment and entrepreneurship avenues for the students, NU said.

(MICs) are state of art technology facilities for collaboration on innovative research, technology or software solutions, involving a combination of government, academic and industry participants.
