NIIT bags Rs 84.38 crore contract from Gujarat education department

NEW DELHI: NIIT Ltd on Monday announced bagging a Rs 84.38 crore contract from the Gujarat education department to provide computer-aided learning in 1,870 high and higher secondary government schools in the state. The contract will cover nine lakh students in classes 9-12. NIIT had recently won a contract from the Rajasthan government covering 1,672 schools.

The firm had also bagged one of the largest turn-key IT education contracts in the school segment in India of 2,005 schools from the Andhra Pradesh government. It followed that up with two orders from the Maharashtra and Bihar governments to provide training in 900 schools for the next five years.
