Mukesh Ambani named founder president of PDPU
Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani has been appointed the founder president of the Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University in Gandhinagar.
With Ambani, an MBA holder and a chemical engineer, at the helm, the newly set up varsity will grow to be among the elite group of global educational institutions, an official release said today.
The university, established by a state act passed in February, is being pomoted by the Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute (GERMI) that was established by state-run Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC).
The objective of the institute is to meet the increasing demand for technological and managerial manpower in the energy sector.
There are about 120 students pursuing their MBAs in the oil and gas sector while 240 others are enrolled in the BTech programme of the university.
