MICA to double intake for PG courses

Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) is set to double its intake capacity in the post-graduate programme in communications management (PGPCM) from the academic year 2007-08.

AHMEDABAD: Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) is set to double its intake capacity in the post-graduate programme in communications management (PGPCM) from the academic year 2007-08. The current intake of PGPCM is 120 students in two batches.

MICA director Professor Atul Tandon said, “The intake capacity of PGPCM has been doubled from this year. This has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).”

He was speaking at MICA’s 12th convocation held on Saturday. Apart from PGPCM, a two year residential programme, which is the flagship programme of MICA, it may also start a one-year PGPCM for executives from next year. “This programme will be of 15 months duration. We plan to start the PGPCM for executives from next year,” said Mr Tandon.

A total of 72 students — including one international student — specialising in the areas of brand communications management, brand management, media planning and media research passed out. The convocation was presided over by MS Swaminathan, eminent agriculture scientist and Madhukar Kamath, MD and CEO Mudra.
