MCI committee inspects govt medical college
A three member committee from the Medical Council of India, headed by Dr Kamalesh Kohli from Delhi, inspected the various wings in the government medical college here.
The council had refused permission to the college last year to admit students, due to reported lack of lab facilities.
The team inspected the wards, checked the doctors registers, the inpatient wards, the blood bank. They also went around the hostels and asked students about the facilities.
They later held discussions with the college dean Dr Jayanthi and medical superintendent Dr Sivakumar.
