Mahatma Gandhi University bags Indira Gandhi award

The award carrying a cash prize of Rs two lakhs, citation and a memento will be distributed by President, Pranab Mukherjee, on Nov 19 at a function in Delhi.

KOCHI: Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, has bagged Indira Gandhi Award for Best National Service Scheme and the Best NSS Coordinator Award in the country, instituted by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

This is the second time the varsity has won the award, a university press release said.

Dr K Sabukuttan of MGU has also been adjudged as the best NSS Programme Coordinator.
