Loyola graduate's average pay package swells 28% to Rs 7.5L
The average salary package this year is Rs 7.55 lakh per annum, up 28% compared to Rs 6 lakh last year.

CHENNAI: It's not just the IIMs that are witnessing a surge in the number of consulting firms visiting campuses for recruitment. Smaller B-schools such as the Loyola Institute of Business Administration (Liba) saw many consultancy companies hiring its graduates, while there was a sharp decline in the number of IT firms.
���Consulting firms such as Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and CBRE made their debut in the placement season this year. At the same time, only three firms in the IT space recruited this year, compared to 11 last year,��� Liba professor Jairam K Iyer said. The other consulting firms were regular visitors such as Jones Lang LaSelle Meghraj and MindTree Consulting.
The average salary package this year is Rs 7.55 lakh per annum, up 28% compared to Rs 6 lakh last year. First-time recruiter Uniworld Logistics made the highest offer at Rs 10 lakh.
Overall, 103 students had applied for placements and all of them have been placed. About 39% of the students were placed in the banking and financial services sector. Some of the companies in this sector include HSBC, Kotak Mahindra Bank and ICICI Bank.
Of the 110 management graduates who will pass out this year, at least five have decided to start their own ventures. Paul Abner Noronha, who���s specializing in marketing, is mulling a business in the eco-plastics space. ���I did my internship at Johnson & Johnson and visited quite a few scrap plastic and metal plants. That���s when I thought of this idea. Besides, global warming and conservatism are the biggest concerns today,��� he said.
