Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met with officials from Johns Hopkins University (JHU) on Sunday to discuss the establishment of a JHU campus in India.

The meeting also covered potential academic and research collaborations. A senior education ministry official expressed optimism about the outcome, stating, "Given the keen interest expressed by high-level delegation during the meeting, government is hopeful of a positive outcome very soon."

Discussions included dual and joint degree programs, student and faculty exchange programs, and research partnerships in fields like data science, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.

The 12-member delegation, led by JHU President Ronald J. Daniels, is the largest ever from the university to visit India. The delegation also includes representatives from the Gupta Klinsky India Institute (GKII), a JHU unit focused on collaborations with Indian partners.

During the meeting, Pradhan highlighted the opportunities created by India's National Education Policy 2020.

JHU, consistently ranked among the top global universities, is renowned for its contributions to research, medicine, and education. The university has two campuses outside the US, one in Bologna, Italy and one in Nanjing, China.
