JEE-Advanced 2016 results; 36,566 qualify for entry into IITs

According to reports, Jaipur’s Aman Bansal has topped the exam followed by Bhavesh Dhingra and Kunal Goyal.

MUMBAI: The JEE-Advanced 2016 results have been declared and 36,566 of the 1.5 lakh-odd candidates who took the exam, have qualified for admissions into the country’s leading IITs.

With four new IITs - at Chattisgarh, Jammu, Karnataka and Goa — scheduled to begin operations from the 2016-17 session, there are 10,575 seats across 23 IITs (including ISM, Dhanbad) this time, around 569 more than last year.

According to reports, Jaipur’s Aman Bansal has topped the exam followed by Bhavesh Dhingra and Kunal Goyal.

The exam was organised by IIT Guwahati this time. While the results were declared a little before 10 am, the JEE Advanced website was functioning slow and results occasionally not accessible because of traffic overload.
