Jadavpur Univ inks MoU with Canadian varsity
Jadavpur University (JU) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with York University, Canada’s third-largest university. This agreement covers academic
co-operation in the areas of education technology, nanoscience and technology, film studies and history.
Speaking to ET, Rajat Bandyopadhyay, registrar, JU, said, “This agreement with York University will involve student and faculty exchanges as well as administrative exchanges. Research in these disciplines will also fall under the purview of this collaboration.” “We have been carrying on a dialogue with the York University regarding this collaboration ever since ’04-05, but our talks have just materialised,” he added.
Mr Bandyopadhyay said that JU already had some 37 such tie-ups with various foreign universities covering a range of areas. “In fact, we have just received two new proposals for such academic collaborations which are currently being considered,” he said.
