KURUKSHETRA: Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani will inaugurate a three-day annual general meeting of Association of Indian Universities' in the Kurukshetra University campus here on April 17.
"The three-day meeting from April 17-19 will be a platform to discuss important issues concerning the higher education in India," the Vice-Chancellor of the host university, DDS Sandhu said today.
The discussions among vice-chancellors and academicians during the meeting is expected to provide new direction to the higher education system in India, he said.
"The event is expected to provide some new guidelines for the reorientation and updating of the education system in view of the changing global scenario," Sandhu said.
About 300 vice-chancellors and senior academicians will attend the meet.
