International conference on education postponed: Smriti Irani
An international conference on education, which was proposed to be held in November in Gujarat's Gandhinagar, was postponed due to unavoidable circumstances, the government said.
In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, HRD Minister Smriti Irani said the new dates and venue for holding the conference, which would showcase India's achievement in the sector, have not been finalised.
"The International Conference on Education, which was proposed to be held in November, 2015 at Gandhinagar, Gujarat, was postposed due to unavoidable circumstances," the minister said in her reply.
Responding to another question in the House, Irani said the National Council of Educational Research and Training ( NCERT) has proposed to increase the number of scholarships under National Talent Search (NTS) scheme from 1,000 to 2,000 per year.
