Institute of Computer Accountants to train youth registered with employment exchanges
The scheme is intended to bridge the gap between the jobseekers’ academic knowledge and industry requirements of on-the ground skills.
KOLKATA: The Institute of Computer Accountants (ICA), one of the country’s leading vocational and job skill providing institutes, will be assisting the West Bengal government in providing training in accounts and finance to the youth registered with the state employment exchanges.
The scheme is intended to bridge the gap between the jobseekers’ academic knowledge and industry requirements of on-the ground skills.
The tie-up has been formed exclusively for areas of accounts and finance, which tops the list of subjects chosen by the government for skill development. The latter offers to sponsor Rs 5,000 or 50% of the course fee, which is lower, to the trainees.
NK Shyamsukha, chairman, ICA, said in a release, “We are happy to ally with the state government’s very proactive drive to eradicate unemployment from West Bengal.”
According to Koushik Mukherjee, general manager, sales (East), ICA is expecting to train about 1 lakh youth under this scheme over the next 14 months. This is against a projected requirement of 11 lakh jobs at the national level generated over the next three years.
According to Mr Shyamsukha, the company is gearing up to accommodate 1 lakh students in the next 14 months in 42 centres across West Bengal. ICA has placed more than 30,000 students in all verticals of industry since 1999. It has more than 300 centres across the country and 30 placement centres.
