The latest Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+) 2024-25 report on India’s school education shows teachers crossing the 1 crore mark, rising retention and transition rates across grades, and over 63% of schools now equipped with computers and internet. Yet, challenges remain: nearly 8,000 schools report zero enrolment, over one lakh operate with just a single teacher, and only 55% are barrier-free with ramps and handrails.
