India Australia Institute of Management ([i] aim), an institute aimed at providing accountancy, business management and hotel management courses to Indian students for future placement in Australia, is set to come up in Kolkata.
KOLKATA: India Australia Institute of Management ([i] aim), an institute aimed at providing accountancy, business management and hotel management courses to Indian students for future placement in Australia, is set to come up in Kolkata.
The venture is promoted by Mr Robin Jaggessar and Mr Sujoy Maitra, directors of Brisbane-based ADMS Career Solutions, an organisation specialising in training for management, IT and business accounting.
Speaking at the unveiling of the institute, Mr Jaggessar, director, [i] aim said, "At present, [i] aim has opened its campus in Salt Lake City in collaboration with BBI Consultants Pvt Ltd, which runs a management school called Aurobindo Bose Institute of Science, Technology and Management. The first batch in February 2007 will start with an initial intake of 80, which we plan to scale up to 250."
According to Mr Maitra, the company plans to invest Rs 100 crore for the Indian education unit over the next five years in a phased manner. "We are in the process of acquiring 500 acres within 25km of Kolkata where we will set up a state-of-the-art institute," he said.
[i] aim will be offer several courses including Advanced Diploma of Business, Bachelor of Business, Dual Advanced Diplomas, Advanced Diploma in Business and Accounting as well as the Executive Diploma of Business.
