IIT-K students to meet legendary billionaire Warren Buffett

Students are scheduled to visit Omaha and New York in May. They will attend the AGM of Berkshire Hathway and meet its CEO Warren Buffett. Mid-career crisis

KOLKATA: A group of 35 management students from IIT Kharagpurs Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM) is all set to meet legendary billionaire Warren Buffett. This is part of a two-week student exchange programme organised by VGSOM.

Students are scheduled to visit Omaha and New York in May. They will attend the AGM of Berkshire Hathway and meet its CEO Warren Buffett.

A media release issued by IIT Kharagpur said: Students would have the rare opportunity to listen, ask questions and learn from Buffett. After spending a week in Omaha, the team will then proceed to New York. There, the students will have a glimpse of Nasdaq operations. The US visit is in reciprocation to a visit by students of the University of Omaha to IIT Kharagpur last year.

The students will also visit the headquarters of the Citigroup in New York. The student exchange tour is the brainchild of Vinod Gupta, an Omaha-based alumnus of IIT Kharagpur.

Commenting on the trip, InfoUSA Inc chairman and CEO Vinod Gupta said: The students will get to meet faculty with great expertise in a variety of areas, see in-person how American businesses operate and meet an absolutely legendary business leader.

Ajit Jain, another IIT success story and one of the most trusted managers of Warren Buffet, will fete the team in New York in a valedictory gesture.
