IIMs to announce admission lists today
The lists will include only those candidates who have qualified in the general and ST/SC categories.
As per a government directive sent to the IIMs earlier in the day, the student intake will be limited to the approved intake that existed during the academic session 2006-07. The OBC quota list and the incremental number of seats for other categories arising out of the quota proposal, will not be announced as the matter is sub-judice.
"We have received a directive from government. We will come up with the list by evening," a spokesperson for IIM-A said. "We will announce the list in a few hours," said Prof Ashok Banerjee, chairperson-PGP at IIM-Calcutta.
Websites of the six IIMs have already got jammed as aspirants have started looking out for the results on the Internet. As per last year's intake, 1350 seats are up for grabs at the premier B-schools.
