IIML student bags Rs 4.25 lakh stipend
The highest international salary was Rs 4.25 lakh while the highest domestic salary was Rs. 50,000.00 per month.
Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIML) announced the completion of its summer placement for the 2006-07 batch on Thursday. A total of 312 offers were made for 278 first year PGP students by 80 companies out of which 19 were international offers.
The highest international salary was 5000 pounds per month (around Rs. 4.25 lakh) while the highest domestic salary was Rs. 50,000.00 per month.
Finance was the area of choice with over 32 per cent of the batch opting for the domain. Within Finance, the emphasis was on research, investment banking, consulting, treasury, advisory, trading, corporate & retail banking, private equity, wealth management & business intelligence.
The major recruiters were BNP Paribas, Singapore, JP Morgan, London, Citibank Hong Kong, Barings Private Equity, Deutche Bank, Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan, etc. Within Finance, more than 24 per cent students opted for insurance, consumer & corporate finance and equity research.
IT saw 12 per cent students lining up for job offers and so did Consulting. Some of the companies, which found favour with students here, were Deloitte Consulting, Yahoo, SAP, Hewitt Associates, Accenture, KPMG, PWC, TAS, TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, Infosys, etc.
“This year’s summer placements show a distinct inclination for Finance followed closely by Sales & Marketing. Each year sees an increasing number of global companies making a beeline for our students. The overwhelming response from regulars and first timers for the recruitments on campus is only an indicator of the high quality of education provided to the students at IIML”, says Dr. Devi Singh, Director, IIM Lucknow.
