IIM-C students get plum placements this season
IIM Calcutta (IIM-C) has wrapped up its summer placements in five days with the 353-strong batch bagging offers from 125 participating recruiters.
Over 75 students will be interning abroad this year, an increase of 20% over last year. Internship locations offered included New York, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Dubai, South Africa and Vietnam.
About 37% of the batch have opted for internships in finance, in keeping with IIM-C’s reputation as a stronghold in finance. 20% of the students will be interning in consulting firms, 28% in marketing roles and 8% in general management.
Recruiters making the maximum number of offers in the finance domain included RBS with 15 offers, and UBS with 12 offers. A student has even been offered an internship at the chief investment officer’s desk at JP Morgan.
