IIM-A team wins Global Marketing Competition in Madrid

A three-member team from IIM-A has won the 16th edition of the Global Marketing Competition, an international contest organised by the ESIC Business and Marketing School-Madrid.

AHMEDABAD: A three-member team from the country's top B-school, IIM-Ahmedabad ( IIM-A) has won the 16th edition of the Global Marketing Competition, an international contest organised by the ESIC Business and Marketing School-Madrid. The team consisting of Parampreet Singh Bhasin, Varsha Verma and Parimal Lokhande has won themselves a Master Specialised from ESIC and a prize money of 12,000 Euros.

More than 4100 university students from 76 countries participated in the competition that required participants to test their knowledge and skills in a business simulated environment over a 3-month period, a statement from the institute stated here on Wednesday. Out of 1,300 teams that initially participated, 36 teams qualified for the semifinals out of which 6 teams moved over to the finals.

The finals were held in Madrid from July 16th to 21st and the teams had to defend their business plans in front of a professional jury. The team from IIMA overcame the other 5 teams from Catholic University of Peru, the Mudra Institute of Communications in India, Moscow Bauman Satte University of Russia, the Pacific University of Peru and the Sakarya University of Istanbul in Turkey.
