IIM-A raises fees of two PG courses

The Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has hiked the fees for its post-graduate mangement programme from Rs 1.77 lakh to Rs two lakh.

AHMEDABAD: The Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has hiked the fees for its post-graduate mangement programme from Rs 1.77 lakh to Rs two lakh.

The fees for the post-graduate programme for executives (PGPX) has also been increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 14 lakh, IIM(A) Chairman Vijaypat Singhania told reporters here today.

The decision to hike the fees was taken at the meeting of Board of Governors of IIM-A here.
"The government will have to find some way to define OBCs," he said.
The IIM-A had decided to increase seats in a phased manner over three years to implement the 27 per cent quota in line with an order from the Union human resource development ministry. The institute planned to increase its seats by six per cent in the first phase this year.
Dholakia had earlier said: "The Common Admission Test (CAT) Group will meet and decide on admissions under the OBC quota on the basis of the communication received from the Central ministry."
