IIM-A board meets to discuss fee hike

AHMEDABAD: The Director Board of the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad (IIM-A) met here on Saturday to discuss issues like fee hike and the Supreme Court stay on 27 per cent OBC quota in elite educational institutes.
The meeting was chaired by Vijaypat Singhania, who took over as Chairman of the permier business school from Infosys founder N R Narayan Murthy, official sources said here.
A couple of days back IIM-A Director Bakul Dholakia had indicated that the decision regarding fee hike for the institute's two-year post graduate programme in management could be taken in the board meeting.
Last year, IIM-A had increased its fees from Rs 1.58 lakh per annum to Rs 1.77 lakh, a rise of about 12 per cent. Later in the evening, the annual convocation of IIM-A will be attended by Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram.
