IIFT to lend resource support to EDI
Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) will offer faculty and other resources support to Enterprise Development Institute (EDI), which is promoted by Bengal National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BNCCI).
Announcing this on Wednesday, IIFT director K Rangarajan said: “Support to EDI will be provided from IIFT’s eastern regional office that was recently opened in Salt Lake”.
The premier institute, apart from offering courses on export-import man-agement, is also engaged in research activities on global trade in overseas locations.
Incidentally, EDI offers a one-year diploma course on entrepreneurship development and small business management and a six-month certificate course on travel and tourism. The six months course is being offered in collaboration with the Netaji Subhas Open University.
This apart, EDI organises several sponsored entrepreneurship develop-ment programmes for different target groups like women, rural entrepre-neurs, scientists, voluntarily retired persons and ex-servicemen. Till date, it has conducted programmes for sectors like food processing, diversified jute products, pisciculture, plastics, floriculture and travel & tourism.
