IGNOU ranked 17th among top 100 universities in subcontinent
Indira Gandhi National Open University has been ranked 17th among universities of the Indian subcontinent.
"IGNOU has been ranked 17th competing with institutions like IIMs, IITs, AIIMS, Banaras Hindu University, University of Delhi and various other open university of Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh," a IGNOU release said.
The institutions were classified on the basis of their websize, number of files, number of papers published in an year and records in the google scholar.
Link visibility, number of citations to papers in the IST database and number of visits to the web domains are the other criteria for determining the ranking, the release said.
The ranking is being published since 2004 on the basis of web date as indicator of the visibility and impact of the activities of the universities, colleges and research institutions worldwide.
