IGNOU launches diploma course in Mechanical engineering

NEW DELHI: Widening prospects in technical training, Indira Gandhi National Open University will start a diploma course in mechanical engineering from next year. Besides those having Certificate in Motorcycle Service and Repair (CMSR) from IGNOU, candidates with 55 per cent marks in class ten or having an ITI certificate are eligible for admission in the Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) programme, said the university in a release today.
Employees of government or private manufacturing industries or self-employed persons with similar expertise can also apply for the course, it said.

Application forms and prospectus for the session starting from January 2009 will be available from September 15 and the last date for submission of application form is October 2008.
