KOLKATA: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will come out with a new course in a fortnight and has also been working on a white paper on expectations from chartered acountants (CAs).
"The new course will be in place within 15 days," ICAI central council member Harinderjit Singh told reporters on the sidelines of a seminar.
"There is huge demand from KPO and BPO for CAs and thus we want to mould the course and prepare students to meet their demands in communication and presentation skill, he said.
To make the course industry oriented, ICAI was contemplating to expand its ambit in new areas of service beyond auditing and accountancy, he said.
"A white paper is under preparation on expectations from CA professionals. The paper is expected by December," Singh said.
About 90 per cent of CA professionals passing examinations joined the industry and the remaining opt for practise, Singh said.
