Haryana initiates step on Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan
Under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SAS), which is being implemented in all districts of Haryana.
Stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana Prathmik Shiksha Pariyojna Parishad said that an award of Rs one lakh had been instituted for those panchayats which would achieve 100 per cent enrolment and retention of girls in the age group of 6 to 14 years.
He said that while 800 early childhood care and education centres, known as "Bachpanshalas" have been opened in the State, process has been initiated to open five more "Bachpanshalas" per district.
Village Education Committees have been reconstituted with Sarpanch as Chairman.
Training programme for the members of such committees has already been organised at the level of each block.
He said that while maintenance and repair grant of Rs. 5000 was admissible for each primary, middle, high and senior secondary school under SSA, Rs.1400 per school were being provided for research and evaluation
