Gujarat Technological University to establish centres of excellence for skill up-scaling
GTU would establish Centre of excellence in Telecom in association with Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) with industry partner Tejas Technology Pvt. Ltd.
GTU VC Dr. Akshai Agrawal has formed a policy on skill development and has a Skilling Mission Policy in addition to having set up a Board for Vocational Education and Glass Academy for building skills.
GTU would establish Centre of excellence in Telecom in association with Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) with industry partner Tejas Technology Pvt. Ltd. The telecom training centre would be set up acroreoss 10 places. The training will include three different courses -- L2L3 switch, DWDM & SDH network management --- validated by the Telecom Sector Skill Council approved by National Skill Development Council (NSDC). The Gujarat government would provide Rs 1 crore for setting up 10 such centres. GTU will set up a COE in Welding to address the needs of welders in terms of hardware (the machine) and software (process, procedure, inspection), GTU said.
