Gujarat climbs to 4th position in rural education: ASSOCHAM
Gujarat, which was ranked 16th in India in terms of its rural education seven years ago has climbed up to the fourth position, says an assessment by The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India.
Gujarat has emerged one of the best states for rural education infrastructure since 85 per cent of its schools in rural areas have adequate water and toilet facilities, an ASSOCHAM release said here on Saturday.
While teacher attendance in most of Gujarat's rural schools is near 100 per cent, the students going at primary and middle level schools in the state in general was found to be over 85 per cent, the release further said.
The detailed report of the assessment will be submitted to Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi soon, it added.
