Govt okays 28 new Jawahar Navodya Vidalayas
The Government tonight approved a proposal to open 28 Jawahar Navodya Vidyalyas (JNVs) in the unrepresented districts.
NEW DELHI: The Government tonight approved a proposal to open 28 Jawahar Navodya Vidyalyas (JNVs) in the unrepresented districts.
As a result, 28 additional districts will be brought under the JNV scheme giving opportunity to rural talent to get quality education, Information and Broadcasting Minister P R Dasmunsi told reporters after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs.
He said there would not be any additional financial implications due to the decision.
JNVs is a central sector scheme which commenced in 1986-87 pursuant to a provision in the new National Policy on Education adopted in 1986, he said.
