Government fast tracks setting up of NIELIT centre's in Northeast India
Govt has fast tracked setting up of centres of National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology in Northeast India.
J Satyanarayana, secretary, department of electronics and information technology (DEIT), government of India who was in Guwahati on Tuesday said already 15 centres are set up in region under Government of India's project to enhance Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training and education in the northeast with a outlay of Rs 388 crore.
The ministry plans to set up at least 20 centres in the Northeast India. Satyanarayana said that they plan to train at least 15,000 students every year by offering short and long term courses in areas of Information, Electronics and Communication Technology
Assam government has assured NIELIT all possible help in setting up the permanent campus of the Guwahati city centre of NIELIT at Sonapur in the outskirts of the city.
