Five composite schools to be opened in Jharkhand: Smriti Irani

KHUNTI, JHARKHAND: Union Minister Smriti Irani today said five composite schools will be opened in Jharkhand which will provide education to students from class 1 till post graduation in one campus.

"The composite schools will be opened in Ranchi, Palamau, Dumka, Chaibasa and Hazaribagh," Irani said while addressing the 'Vidyalay Chale-Cyalayein Abhiyan' at Kalamati in the district.

The government will run the schools on the line of private schools and students will be provided bus services, the Human Resource Development Minister said, according to an official release.

SC, ST and OBC students of IIT Dhanbad, previously known as Indian School of Mines, will not have to pay any fee, she said.

Irani advocated for inclusion of students' parents in school management system so that any lacuna could be brought to the notice of the administration.

Chief Minister Raghubar Das said the state government was planning to involve panchayats in school management to ensure proper running and monitoring of schools.

He requested the Union Minister to provide furniture in 30,000 schools of the state and asked people's representatives to develop one model school in their respective constituencies.
