Educomp, Chhattisgarh govt to impart IT skills to students

Information Technology skills provider Educomp Solutions has signed an agreement with the Chhattisgarh government to impart computer aided education to about 30,000 students belonging to backward classes.

NEW DELHI: Information Technology skills provider Educomp Solutions has signed an agreement with the Chhattisgarh government to impart computer aided education to about 30,000 students belonging to backward classes, over a period of three years.

"This is an initiative of the Chhattisgarh government to enable backward children belonging to the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe communities to enhance their knowledge using information technology and make them more competitive," Chhattisgarh Minister for Tribal, SC/ST Development Satya Nand Rathia said.

"We are keen to expand this project to the remaining districts of the state," he said.

As per the agreement, Educomp will provide hardware, software, multi-media based content on various subjects and connected accessories to 323 hostels.

It will also provide one faculty to each hostel to guide the children.
