Dr Devi Singh has been re-appointed as the director of Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIML). His second term as the director began this Monday and he will serve another five-year term at the institute.
Dr Singh was appointed as the IIML director in 2003 and handed over the charge to his colleagues in August '08, after completing his first term.
But, the authorities could not finalise a successor, as there was a difference of opinion. The IIML board of governors wanted an extension for Dr Singh while the Ministry of HRD wanted to give the responsibility to Indian Institute of Forest Management (Bhopal) director Prof DK Bandhopadhyay.
