Hyderabad: Global engineering and technology solutions firm Cyient on Wednesday announced fusing all its sustainability and corporate social responsibility initiatives under single umbrella theme ‘Empowering Tomorrow Together’ aimed at maximising the impact of outreach programs by building synergies and optimising resources.

In a statement on Wednesday, Cyient said the merged initiatives under single umbrella together will cover activities under four focus areas: education, digital literacy, social innovation, and community development.

Amid Covid-19 pandemic influenced lockdowns that were restricting the movement of the public, Cyient is focussing on digital literacy programs to empower the underprivileged students and adults learn to operate the computers for easier adoption of digital initiatives.


During 2019-2020, the company had extended digital literacy outreach programs to around 70,000 people through 70 active Cyient Digital Centres where 55% were women participants, said the company.

“By bringing all our initiatives under the ‘Empowering Tomorrow Together’ credo, we hope to expand our potential to create impact and truly empower local communities by touching more lives in the days and years to come,” says Cyient founder and executive chairman BVR Mohan Reddy.

Hyderabad-headquartered Cyient had spent over Rs 8 crore on its CSR programs during the last fiscal, exceeding the minimum two percent spending mandated by the ministry of corporate affairs.
