CFA Institute offers $300 fee refund
The CFA Institute has undertaken emergency measures to help candidates appear for the CFA exam on June 3.
The US-based institute will process the refund by July-end after at least one centre has been confirmed by the candidate. “As of now, 25 students have shown willingness to travel for the examination,” said a source on condition of anonymity. While some students are worrying about obtaining visas, many others don’t even have passports. “One doesn’t require a passport to travel to Kathmandu,
while in Sri Lanka, Hong Kong and Singapore, visa on arrival facility is offered,” said the source.
CFA candidates are in a soup because the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), a government body, barred the CFA Institute from operating in India. The institute has filed a petition seeking an interim order to conduct the examination.
The hearing on the petition is expected by Friday or at the latest by Monday. The institute, in its email to the students, has also said in case examination is held in India it will honour the original test centre even if the student asked for a change in centre in the first place.
