Centre and state government sign MoU for Mizoram's first medical college

Mizoram minister of state for Health Lal Thanzara today said the state government and the Centre has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for establishment of the state's first Medical College.

AIZAWL: Mizoram minister of state for Health Lal Thanzara today said the state government and the Centre has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for establishment of the state's first Medical College.

Addressing the annual conference of the Mizoram Government Doctors' Association (MGDA), Thanzara said Mizoram would soon have a medical college and the Civil Hospital in Aizawl would be upgraded with Rs 45 crore, while a multi-disciplinary research unit would be established at Falkawn near Aizawl.

Efforts were being made for establishment of a tertiary Cancer Care Centre at Zemabawk near Aizawl, he added.
