Centre allocates Rs 10 crore for developing Tuting under MsDP

The Centre has allocated rupees ten crore for development of Tuting in Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

ITANAGAR: The Centre has allocated rupees ten crore for development of Tuting in Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh under its Multi-Sectoral Development Programme (MsDP).

"Tuting has been recognized as a minority concentration block and a fund of Rs 10 crore has been allotted under MsDP for its development," Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs Ninong Ering said during his visit to the district yesterday, official sources said here today.

The minister also addressed skepticism over MsDP in some quarters, and said that the programme was an initiative to address the development deficits of minority concentration areas by creating socio-economic infrastructure and providing basic amenities and not aimed at conversion of people into any religion.

The minister assured the public that newly created Payindem block would also be included in the minority concentration blocks as concentration of minority population of the block was very high.
