Central University to come up at Kangra and IIT at Mandi:CM
A central university would be set up in Kangra and an IIT would be located in Mandi districts of Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said on Saturday.

SHIMLA: A central university would be set up in Kangra and an IIT would be located in Mandi districts of Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said on Saturday.
The university, to be funded completely by the Centre, would be built in an area of 500 'bighas' while for the IIT be set up in 300 'bighas' of land would be acquired, the CM told a section of the media before leaving for the national capital on way to the US where he would be meeting top officials of the World Bank on ongoing projects in the state.
He said the district administration of Kangra and Mandi have been directed to identify suitable sites for the two projects respectively.
