CAT 2015 results declared today amidst rumours of website being hacked; IIMs, TCS say no leakage, no error
The results of CAT 2015, gateway for entry into the prestigious IIMs as well as other B-schools, were declared today, a few days earlier than expected.
IM Ahmedabad, the organising IIM for this year’s CAT, maintained that it had planned to issue the results today itself. There had, however, earlier been no official announcement to this effect.
Both IIM Ahmedabad and TCS were quick to dispel the rumours.
A statement from CAT convenor Tathagata Bandopadhyay read: “Today morning (between 9:00-9:40 am), some students accessed their own results (not others) on the portal during the period the website was being updated, which caused some confusion among students. There was no leakage, no error or hacking of data whatsoever. TCS plugged this loophole immediately."
He added that the total percentile had been messaged to all the candidates at 1:50 pm and at present, the candidates could also log in with their ID and password to view their score card.
TCS reiterated the same. “All students have also received their results,” said a spokesperson
TCS was appointed as the testing agency for the CAT in 2014 for a period of 5 years, edging out Prometric India, the Indian arm of US-based testing company.
Around 2 lakh students sat for CAT 2015.
