The government has set up a mammoth target of achieving a Gross Enrollment Ration (GER) of 30% by 2020 from a GER of 12% recorded in 2010.

NEW DELHI: The government has set up a mammoth target of achieving a Gross Enrollment Ration (GER) of 30% by 2020 from a GER of 12% recorded in 2010. This herculean task will need significant participation from private sector which can only be encouraged by providing incentives to private players for development of higher education infrastructure.

Suggestion:

· Government should provide a road map which gives clarity on quantum of investments in each field of education.

· Some incentives should be provided for private participation.

· Passage of Foreign Education Bill.
