BSE Institute offers post graduate program in global financial markets

AHMEDABAD: BSE Institute Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the BSE Ltd, will start a flagship Post Graduate Program in Global Financial Markets (PGP-GFM). Spread across four semesters and comprising of 20 modules, PGP–GFM is a two year full time autonomous post graduate program. BSE Institute will conduct a written entrance test on 31st March 2013 in all the major metros across India for admissions. Ahmedabad will account 60 seats for the PGP-GFM program.

PGP-GFM will help students learn fundamentals of the global financial markets said Ambarish Datta, MD & CEO, BSE Institute Ltd. “The markets and institutions operating in the global financial markets have, in recent years, undergone significant changes. Everything we know about financial systems points to continued globalisation and interdependence,” added Mr. Datta.

According to him, “Systemic crisis in one major market will cause severe consequences in other markets. This has resulted in the emergence of a new breed of global financial market professionals, who understand the strategies of globalisation versus localisation with reference to financial market transactions and regulations. This program has been designed to groom such professionals and includes classroom sessions by market experts and study visits to Asian and European Financial Markets. ”

The course syllabus involved international immersion to Europe/Asia Pacific to gain more knowledge about International Financial Markets. This will also include both academic sessions and visits & interaction with leading international professionals. Institute will help in placement in Companies operating within Private Equity, Foreign Institutional Investment, Foreign Banks and Merger and Acquisition.

As per the eligibility criteria candidates required to have bachelor degree with minimum 50%(for general category) and 45%(for SC/ST) from a UGC recognised University.
