BIMTECH to offer new course in retail mgt

NEW DELHI: Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) on Tuesday announced a new programme for retail management in association with US-based Philadelphia University.

BIMTECH and Philadelphia University will jointly deliver the course content through Reliance World video-conferencing based virtual classroom platform, a Reliance statement said here.

The Executive Programme for Retailing Management (EPRM) is an 11-month, 300-hour integrated course and would cover subjects like retail store management, visual merchandising, merchandising, supply chain and customer relations management.

Reliance World will also consider placing top ten students in its retail organisation, the statement said.

NIS SPARTA will be marketing this programme through its initiatives called Corporate Connect and Retail Reach.

Organised retail constitutes a mere 3.5 per cent of the 300-billion-dollar retail industry in India, offering a huge opportunity for retail management professionals, it said.

Reliance World is chain of retail outlets for products and services of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group. The company has about 241 outlets in 105 cities.
