Bihar Board Class 12 results out, 53% passes exam: Check details here

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has declared the class XII result today at 5:00 in the evening. Around 12 lakh students have appeared for the examination in February 2018.

This year's overall pass percentage is 52.95 per cent. Out of 11.9 lakh students, 6.31 lakh students have passed the Class 12 board exams.

A total of 44.7% students have passed from Science stream, 91.32% from Commerce and 61.32% qualified in Arts stream this year. NEET topper Kalpana Kumari has also topped Bihar Class 12 Science stream exam. She has scored 434 marks out of 500.


Students must obtain 30% of total marks in theory portion of each subject and 40% of total marks in practical of each subject to pass the intermediate examination.

The Class 12 topper from each stream - Science, Commerce and Arts will get Rs 1 lakh cash, a laptop and a kindle e-reader each. Rs 75,000 each would be given to the second toppers each and Rs 50,000 to the third rank holders from each stream. The fourth and fifth position holders will get Rs 15,000 and a laptop each.

Step 1: Log on to Biharboard.ac.in

Step 2: Click on the "Bihar Intermediate Class 12 Results 2018"

Step 3: On the following page students enter your roll number and date of birth in DD/MM/YYYY format

Step 4: Click Submit

The results will be announced by Education minister Krishnanandan Prasad verma, Principal secretary of the department R K Mahajan and the BSEB chairman Anand Kishor. Kishor said that the pass percentage of the students would be higher this year in Comparison to the previous year giving credit to the initiatives undertaken by the BSEB.

"Introduction of 50% objective questions in the board exam has helped the students to fare better," Anand Kishor said.

After the much controversial result last year the BSEB is expecting a far better outcome this year. In 2017 the pass percentage was just 35.25% and only 8.34% students were able to secure first division. The board had lodged a case against Ganesh Kumar, the Humanities topper last year for fraud. Kumar claimed to be 24 but instead was found to be 42 and a father of two kids.

To avoid embarrassment, the BSEB performed physical verification of top performers on June 1 and 2. Students who were called were asked to give an IQ test and their handwritings were also cross checked.

The board had scheduled the exam result for June 7 but has advanced the deadline keeping in mind the deadline for Undergraduate admission for Delhi University.
